FUN & EXERCISE BECOME ONE!
"
When I was 8, rocking back and forth in my friend's hula hoop
(I didn't even have my own!), I never thought in a million years
that  as an adult I would find it to be a fun and addictive
workout that allowed me to lose 60 lbs. of post-pregnancy weight!
Hooping has strengthened my core, back, upper arms, shoulders,
increased my self esteem and rejuvenated my spirit.  I am now
doing things I never thought I could do!"
~ Christine MacDonald
Founder of MissFit Hooping

Christine began teaching fitness-inspired Hooping classes in the
Portland/Southern Maine area in 2008 and has since trained several
instructors of various hooping styles in many of the southern
to midcoat Maine area.  Her story was featured
on WCSH Channel 6’s Fit At Five Segment in December of 2009
and helped to spur the hoop movement in the Portland area.

In the beginning, hooping classes were very hard to find.  But it
didn't take long for Christine's classes to be in high demand.
Christine soon realized she couldn't be everywhere at once when
she had 13 classes on her schedule at one point and requests still
coming in.  Without hoop instructor training clinics in the northeast,
she started getting contacted with requests to train others
on what she does.   Hooping had changed her life and training others
instruct was just another way for her to help people change their lives
through the hoop.

Although Christine has taken a hiatis from instructing hoop classes,
hooping is still part of her life and she feels it always will be.  Christine
also enjoys mentoring those she has trained to start their own classes
and encouraging others to transform their bodies through the hoop.
She still enjoys introducing hooping to others and dolling out hooping
tips and advice when on the hooping scene.

Her story could be yours!
When Christine first started hooping, it was with a Wal Mart hoop her
daughter got for her 3rd birthday.  She was instantly
hooked and became a “closet-hooper” practicing motions with her
hoop while her two little girls played in the sandbox or watched their
favorite tv show.  When the hoop was being used more by her than
her daughter, and never being put away, she knew she was hooked.
She created her own exercise routines with her hoop and also picked
it up to give it a spin whenever she had a few minutes throughout
the day.  This effort, in addition to a healthy lifestyle change, enabled
her to lose 60 pounds.  She is happier and more fit now at 40 than
she was in her twenties!

As a Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Christine used the
hoop to inspire and teach others a happy, fun way to exercise.
She has taught people of all sizes and ages to enjoy hooping and
has seen students’ lives being transformed in their hooping
experience as well.  Christine’s goal was to always get people happily
hooping, reaching down to that child inside all of us and trying
new things.  Her motto is still to simply let go and “be one with your
hoop”.  She believes the hoop helps to harness the power from within
for balance, health and bliss!

Christine also brought hooping to many wellness events,
and to such venues as the workplace fitness arena.  She has
taught at Anthem, Unum, Hannaford, and LLBean.
